One of a Kind Boy

Hey Everyone!!

Well, we're gearing up for yet ANOTHER snow storm here in the mid-west, which will hopefully mean MORE crafty time for me. Although I am beyond over the snow, it does give me a great reason to hibernate down in my igloo and craft the day away!!

Today I am here sharing a layout with all of you that I created last week when we were stuck in the house with the below zero temps. If it's not snow, it's below zero temps. This sure has been the WONKIEST winter I've seen in my life time!!

Let's go ahead and take a peek at my layout

For this layout I started with the base yellow cardstock and then trimmed the gray cardstock down about a 1/4 of an inch and placed that on top of the base. I distressed the edges of the gray cardstock and folded up some of the sides and edges as well. I added a bit of later, twine, and Echo Park stickers.

Products Used:
Bazzill Cardstock
Coordinations Cardstock
Echo Park Paper - About a Boy Collection
Echo Park Cardstock Stickers - About a Boy Collection
Ranger Dylusion Spray
Recollections Stamp Set
Staz-on Ink
American Crafts Precision Pen

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and thank you for stopping by to take a peek at my project today!

Hugs,

Kristy

Puppy Cuddles

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!!

I hope you all are staying warm in this crazy weather we're all experiencing!! Today is my Timeless Twine DT day and I am SOOOO excited to share my layout with all of you. To keep with our "new" theme, I have been dying to scrap a layout of our "new" puppy, Sadie. She has brought us so much joy since we got her on Christmas Eve and when I captured this photo of her a few days ago I was anxious to get it scrapped. Since Sadie is a SHE, I finally get to use some girly colors on layouts. Yay!!! It was quite difficult to do that when my three main subjects for my layouts are boy/man themed, I hardly ever got to use pinks on a layout. Not any more! So, let's go ahead and take a peek at my layout.

I am SO in love with this layout!! And, I'm so proud of myself for pushing myself beyond my comfort zone and out of my box of what I would normally do! I love how the sequins and splatters go so well with each other and I love the bling, and the gold gives a great accent to the entire page.

Here are a few close ups

Those gold letters - to die for!

I misted the wood veneer, but I think I should have colored it with a marker instead, or just have inked the edges black or done something different. It's hard to see what it says, which is "The Sweetest Thing". On the hearts, I used stickles and I'm VERY impatient when it comes to waiting for things to dry, so I heated it with my heat gun and low and behold I got this really cool "crackle" type effect on them. I love the texture it gives!

I LOVE how the Timeless Twine Tuxedo Black and the Bella Creationz Valentine Parcel Tags add the perfect touch to this layout.

For this layout I used the following

MCT Guest Designer - You Are Loved

Hey Everyone!!

I'm SO excited to be a Guest Designer today for the super sweet, Emma, over at My Creative Time. Today I'm sharing this super cute, quick and easy card with all of you. Valentine's Day is JUST around the corner and there isn't a better way to say "I Love You" than with a handmade card. The "Puffy Hearts Just For You" stamp set is PERFECT-O for all your Valentine's Day cards. This set is SO versatile and so fun! You can view some of my previous blog posts and see just how I used many of the stamps from this set!

Here's my card

For this card I stamped the large polka dot heart on matching kraft cardstock and I stamped the small polka dot heart on red cardstock. I adhered the two large hearts diagonally from each other and then trimmed off the excess of the lower large heart. I pop dotted the red heart in the middle for dimension, added my sentiment and my sequins. Super cute, super quick and SO simple!

For this card I used the following:
Michael's Kraft Cardstock
Paper Trey Ink Cardstock
Red & Gold Sequins
Stazon Ink

Thanks so much, everyone, for stopping by today to take a peek at my card. And, a huge thank you to Ms. Emma for allowing me to be a GDT on her blog today. I had a blast and I hope you all will stop by and check out her fantastic stamps!!  Have a scrap happy day, everyone!

Hugs,

Kristy : )

Project Life Journal Card

Hey Everyone!!

I hope your weekend is starting off well. Today I am here to share a project life journaling card I made. I am in a PL journal card swap this month and I'm super excited to be able to start working on my PL album. Although mine will not be chronological and I intend to use it to document those "no theme" photos that I have of my boys through out their toddler years, I am still super excited to get a jump start on this and knock out a couple of boxes of photos!

Here's my journal card

Making your own journal cards is super fun and SO easy. It's much cheaper to make your own as well, as you can fit them to your style and needs.

For this card I used the following
My Creative Time Stamps - Puffy Hearts Just For You
Hobby Lobby - White & Black Cardstock
Sequins
Black Zig Pen
Scraptastical Kreations - Journal Cards SVG
Puffy Embossing Powder

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a scrap happy day!!

Love You

Happy Monday!
Yikes, Monday already?!?!!
Where does the weekend go??

Well, mine was spent gettin' crafty!! Yes, yes it was! I was on the search for some challenges over the weekend to spark my creativity, and low and behold I found quite a few.

First, I will be entering this card into the Little Tangles challenge.

The challenge this week is to create a one layer card. This was SUPER fun for me! I'm a CAS kinda gal, but I like to add a layer or two to my cards.

And then I came across the challenge over at Curtain Call, which is to follow the inspiration photo below.

And lastly, the CASE Study Challenge, which was to be inspired by the photo below

So, I combined these 3 challenges together and this is what I came up with. It was SO much fun creating this one and trying to combine all 3 challenges into one. I wasn't sure it was going to work out, but to my surprise it did!

For this card I used the following:

Michael's White Cardstock
Heidi Swapp - Color Shine
Sequins

You Are....

Happy Sunday, Everyone!!

I'm gearing up to watch some football soon, so I wanted to make sure I had my post ready to go ahead of time today. BUT, before I get to sharing my card with all of you, I'm going to make a prediction here - I predict that it will be Denver and San Fran in the Super Bowl. What do you think? Yes! I'm a football junkie!

Ok... let's get to my card

I totally LOVE this card. I love that it isn't the "traditional" Valentine's Day or "Love" colors; pink, red, and white. And, those bathroom people are SO perfect for the awesome sentiment. You can find this sentiment at My Creative Time. It's one of the new releases this month. It is a FAB set! I LOVE it!!

This is the stamp set I used

She has an awesome sale going on right now too, so hurry up and head on over there to grab this and all the other fab new releases!

For this card I also used
Coredinations Cardstock
Bathroom People SVG
Washi Tape

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday and I thank you for stopping by today to take a peek at my card.

Hugs,

Kristy

Fill Your Heart....

It's a late night post!

I was getting scrappy this evening and just couldn't wait to share my card with all of you, so I decided to go ahead and do a "late night" post.

I came across the CAS(E) this Sketch blog and loved the sketch they had for their challenge this week, so I thought I would give it a go and play along! You can take a peek at the sketch by clicking HERE. I was unable to copy the sketch to post here, sorry!

Here is my take on their sketch this week

I really love, love, love how this card turned out!

For this card I used the following

Heidi Swapp Designer Paper
Prima Bling
Michael's White Cardstock

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my card today. I hope you all have a great evening!

This Jacket Layout

Happy Friday, Everyone!!

My week has been totally off this week. I did NOT realize today was Friday. I was thinking it was Thursday and I was thinking Thursday was Wednesday. Sigh!! But, I'm SO glad it IS Friday! I'm ready for the weekend!!

Today I'm sharing a fun layout with all of you. I decided to FINALLY scrap a layout this year, lol. I haven't scrapped a layout in a little over a month. It was time to get busy! So, I seen a sketch challenge over at The Paper Bakery, and as many of you know, I'm a sucker for sketches!! So, I decided to give it a whirl this evening and get some scrap-therapy in. It was much needed and well over do! So, let's take a peek!

Here is the sketch
#18

And, here is my take on the sketch

I just LOVE this photo of my youngest. Even when he is lost in though and daydreaming, he is still so photogenic! I wish I was! But, when I seen this photo I didn't want to do a "daydreaming" or "lost in thought" layout with this one, I wanted to share my memories of him and "this jacket". He had this jacket for about 2 years. I literally JUST threw it out about a week ago (yes, I had to do it on the sly). He wore this jacket EVERYWHERE; to eat, to bed, to everywhere! As my journaling says, it was like it was his security blanket and he would have worn that jacket to take a bath too, if he could. I'm not sure what it was about this jacket that he loved so much, but it certainly was his FAVORITE!

I really had a lot of fun with this sketch. I'm continuing to push myself to move out of my comfort zone and think outside of "my box". I'm super satisfied how this turned out. And, the best part of sketches is that you can twist them, flip them, or rotate them and make your layout unique. No two layouts using a sketch will ever be the same... well most of the time, lol.

For this layout I used the following products:

Studio Calico - Flair, Plastic Letters (green)
Cardstock - Bazzill, American Crafts
Basic Grey Designer Paper
Amy Tangerine - Puffy Stickers
MME - Cut & Paste Stickers
Cosmo Cricket - Tiny Type stickers (favorite)
Recollections Stamps
Vellum
Corrugated star die-cut
American Crafts Precision Pen

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek at my layout. I hope you all have a scrap happy day!

Love Mini Album

Hey Everyone!!

Today I'm going to be sharing bits and pieces of my new en-devour; a mini album. I have always LOVED mini albums, but I have always been intimidated by them at the same time. So, this year I'm putting my mind to trying new things and this is one of them! {**Confession**} I LOVE making them! I don't know what I was so scared about to begin with, but man-o-man, I was really missing out! However, I have not completed the whole album as of yet, but I will have it done very soon. I will be sharing the entire album via You Tube, as well as here on my blog so if you would like to see the finished product, be sure to follow my blog if you don't already and I will be posted the completed album soon!

So, let's get to it and take a peek!

This is the inside cover of the album.

This is the first page in the album

Now we're going to flip the page; this is the left side.
I have a little more to add to this side, but I ran into a roadblock and had to walk away for a bit.

Here's the right side

Now you want to know all the fabulous Timeless Twine and Bella Creations goodies I used on these mini album pages? LOTS!

Glassine Bags - 3" x 5-1/2" - Set of 100
I used these on the inside of the front cover to hold the tags/photo mats.

SALE - Bubble Gum Pink Bakers Twine by Timeless Twine
This is used on the first page of the album on the top note die-cut. Perfect touch!

4" Paper Lace Doilies - Set of 25 - "FREE SHIPPING"
Also used these on the first page as well. I spritzed them with some mist, let dry and cut them into quarters. I added them to the corners of the first page.

SALE - Graphite Gray Bakers Twine by Timeless Twine - 1 Spool (160 Yards)
I used the Graphite Gray on the left side of the second page to hold the charm.

Valentine's Day Bakers Twine by Timeless Twine - Strawberry Cupcake Valentine's Twine

SALE - Cherry Red Bakers Twine by Timeless Twine - 1 Spool (160 Yards)

Both of the Valentine's Day twine and the Cherry Red twine will be used through out the entire album, as they match my paper and theme perfectly.

Well, that's all for now. I hope I have inspired everyone to try something new this year! Don't let those things you THINK you cannot do get the best of you. You can do it, so go for it and step outside of that comfort zone and go for it!

Thanks for stopping by today to peek at my project. I hope you all have a twine-tastic day!!

Hugs,

Kristy

Hello Card

Hello, Everyone!

Happy Monday to you all! I hope you're having a great day thus far. Today I'm here sharing a "hello" card with all of you.

For this card I started off with the card looking like this

I liked it, but thought it needed something else. Something to make it "pop" just a bit more. So, I decided to do some misting, well that misting didn't turn out the way I had anticipated it to so I had to revamp the whole card.

Here is what the new version looks like

Because my misting went astray, I had to cut my tag off of the first version to adhere to this one. I added a few more sequins and called it a day. I actually love both versions now. It's amazing how they're the same, but so totally different. I LOVE that it is so CAS too!

For this card I used:

Michael's Brand 110 lb cardstock
Sequins - Pink
Scraptastical Kreations SVG - tag
Silhouette Cameo

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all have a scrap happy day!!

Hugs,

Kristy

HB2U Card

Hey All!

I hope your week is starting off great!
Today I'm sharing a Birthday card with all of you. I went WAY out of my comfort zone on this one and I LOVE it!!

I splattered some cardstock with some Heidi Swapp color shine and some Illusions ink spray by Ranger all over and let it dry. Then I ran the cardstock through my Fiskars paper crimper and adhered it to the base of the card. I first tried to do the top layer with dimensional dots, but that did not look right, so I changed it and removed the pop dots. I stamped the "HB2U" on a small tag that I cut with my Cameo and then added the border tag behind it. I wanted that to pop off the page, so I went with the yellow in order to get that "pop" I was looking for. I'm in love with this card. I LOVE all the splatters of paint and I think it's a super cute and simple card. Am I biased? lol

The products I used for this card are:

Heidi Swapp - Sweet Cherry Color Shine
Ranger Illusion Ink Spray - Fresh Lime & London Blue
Paper Tray Ink - White Cardstock
Designer Paper (it was scraps and I don't remember the brand)
Jaded Blossom Stamps

Thanks so much for stopping by today to take a peek at my card. I hope you all have a scrap happy day!!

Hugs,

Kristy

Love U Card

Happy Saturday, Everyone!
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far.

I am SO happy to be back to "normal" and am able to craft again! That flu was NO joke!! Anyway, today I'm sharing a sweet Valentine's Day card or an everyday love card with all of you. I seen this idea on Pinterest and thought that it was SUPER cute, so I decided to scrap-lift the idea and use this for my swaps cards this month.

I created the top card layer using my Silhouette Cameo and my Make the Cut program. I also cut the hearts and the letter U with my Cameo as well. I inked the edges of the hearts and the "U" to give them a bit of a pop. I stamped "love" on the banner and  added a pop dot underneath to give it some dimension. I added some bling to the letter U and adhered it to the banner.

For this card I used the following products

Heidi Swapp designer paper (2009 - it's an OLDIE)
Recollections bling
Silhouette Cameo

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you've enjoyed my card and are getting ready to start creating some of your own Valentine's cards. It will be here before we know it!

Hope you all have a scrap happy day!!

Kristy

{Heart} This Life

Hey Everyone!!

Today I wanted to share a layout with you that I've been wanting to share for SO long, but I used this for a DT submission, so I wasn't able to share until now. This is one of my FAVE layouts.

This photo was taken when the hub's surprised me with Bruno Mars tickets in July of '13. It was the BEST day ever. YES... I'm a HUGE Bruno fan!! I really love how this layout came out. I'm always trying to push myself outside of my comfort zone, and this one really pushed me! Even if it takes me 2 or 3 hours to do it, I love that I am able to challenge myself to go above what I'm used to.

For this layout I used the following products

Kraft Cardstock
Crate Paper
Basic Grey die-cuts & chipboard
Misc Wood Veneer
A few other misc work stickers and sayings.

I had a list of the product I used, but unfortunately it has gone MIA in among my creative chaos.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek at my layout. I hope you all have a fabulous scrappy day!

Hugs,

Kristy

Merry Christmas Box

Hey Everyone!!

Well, I'm running a bit behind on sharing all my Christmas goodies with all of you. I crammed for a craft show two weeks before Christmas, which was a vendor show; Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, etc. So, needless to say that show was a total bust.

Then, Christmas Day night my youngest son and I came down with the flu. We were in the ER that Friday, sigh. That flu/virus/bronchitis/head cold had us down for almost two weeks! It was horrible! So, that is why I haven't been able to share any of my Christmas creations with all of you. So, I'm slowly getting them posted now.

Here is a Merry Christmas Box that I whipped up. These boxes from Bella Creations fits the Bath and Body Works mini candles perfectly. This is a great little co-worker gift or a small, fun gift to use for family and friends.

For this I used the following products

Jaded Blossom Stamps

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a scrap happy day!!

Kristy

Oh Christmas Tree

Howdy, All!!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year!! Our New Year is starting off with my son and I being a bit under the weather. Boo!! But, I wanted to quickly share a card with all of you today.

I'm sharing a Christmas card... Yes, Christmas, I know it's over, but I wasn't able to share this card for a while because it was used for a DT submission and having the flu, I just wasn't able to do much at all. But, I wanted to be able to share it with all of you anyway.

I love how the look that the twine gives the entire card. I think it's super cute, simple but elegant.

For this card, I cut the tree out of a 4 in x 5.25 inch piece of cardstock. I then cut a TON of pieces of the Olive Green twine from Timeless Twine (perfect for Christmas anything!). I ran my ATG adhesive around the edges of the tree and adhered each piece of twine vertically. I also cut the star with my Cameo and added that to the top. Then I found some super cute glittered circle flat backs that fit perfectly as ornaments and added my sentiment.

For this card I used the following products

Paper Tray Ink Cardstock
Jaded Blossom Stamps
Recollections glitter dots

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you all have a scrap happy day!!

Hugs,

Kristy
