Scraptastical Kreations Birthday Blog Hop

Thank you so much for stopping by to hop along with us to celebrate the 1 year birthday of the Scraptastical Kreations store. I cannot believe it has been a year now that I have branched off and started creating my own SVG's and paper piecing patterns. I absolutely LOVE what I do, and do what I love. It truly doesn't get any better than being able to combine two of my dearest passions; drawing and scrapbooking. I have LOVED art since I was a young girl. I took any and every art class from Junior High to High School. It is truly my dearest passion, and being able to draw each and every pattern I create is so gratifying to me. I love that I am able to help others preserve their memories with cute and stylish patterns and SVG's. It has been a long road through this year, but I have stuck every inch of it out. I'm a "rider" and will continue to be one through the thick and the thin of the business.

I am SO thankful for each and every one of my fans and customers that support me on a daily basis, and I am overly grateful for the AMAZING design team that I have. They are a HUGE support system, and they are not just DT members to me - they're my sisters! I have one of the greatest teams a gal could ask for! I also have the best ever (little cheese) Admin and best friend that I could ever ask for! Colleen, through all her daily happenings, is always there for me and helps me out in any and every way she can. I cannot, ever, thank her enough, as well as thanking my entire team for being who they are. I truly appreciate each and everyone of them, and I feel that it is important for me, as the designer/business owner, to acknowledge them and let them know just how much they are appreciated!

Colleen (next stop)

NOW that all that is squared away.... Let's get on to my project I created for you all today.

For my project today, I wanted to focus on showing you all the simpler side of my patterns and svg sets. All of my patterns are not just about cute little bears, kids, or animals. I have many design elements that can be utilized in a very sophisticated but cute way. I used the border set (the first one) and used the star border from that set and ran it along the bottom of the mat. Then I used the inner parts of the star border for the star embellishments on the sides of the 2.5x2.5 mats. I took one of the flourishes from the flourish frenzy set, and in my Make the Cut I gave it an offset background and attached the two layers together. I also created the "July 4th 2010" title, which I will have up as a freebie this coming week. All cardstock is Coredinations and the patterned paper is the All Seasons II stack by Paper Studio.

I want to thank you all, again, for hopping along with us and celebrating the one year birthday of Scraptastical Kreations. You are bound to be inspired in some way with all the amazing projects the DT gals have created to share with all of you today. Now, it's time for you to head on over to Colleen's blog and see what fab project she has to share.

ME4Y Monday!

Hello and happy Monday!
Welcome to another ME4Y challenge!! Today's challenge is to use heat embossing on your card. This was a good challenge for me, as I need practice in this area. My heat embossing skills are not the best, but I did survive. This week you'll be eligible to win a $10 GC from Adams Acres. So, be sure to link up your cards at Made Especially For You to be entered!

Now on to my card for this week's challenge

I took advantage of this challenge and made my nephew's graduation card. He graduated high school at the end of May, which I'm SO very proud of him and boy does it make me feel old! I remember sitting in the waiting room on Halloween night almost 19 years ago waiting for him arrive, and now he's already graduated. I used a Pink by Design stamp and stamped the sentiment across the Kraft cardstock to make it like a background and then I added the embossing powder and heated it up. I am really happy with how this came out. The graduation cap is from the "Graduation Day" paper piecing pattern from Scraptastical Kreations.

Card Recipe:
Kraft Cardstock
Red Cardstock
Pink by Design Stamp
StazOn Ink
Scraptastical Kreations SVG

Don't forget to head on over to the Made Especially For You  blog and enter your  card into the challenge!! I can't wait to see everyone's entries and I thank you all for taking a peek at my card today. I hope I've inspired you in some way!

Berry Sweet Layout

Good Evening -- I'm here sharing this adorable layout with all of you. I've had this layout in my head for a few days now, and finally I felt the mojo kick in yesterday afternoon before we had to head out to a baseball game. I knew just what I wanted to do so it all flowed so well, and it came together so quickly. I didn't stress about this layout at all - not like I normally do. I am in absolute LOVE with this one!

On this layout I used patterns from my store, Scraptastical Kreations. You can find these patterns and many other's by clicking HERE.

So here's my Berry Sweet layout!! This is a 2 page 12x12 spread. I had embossed the flowers and stems for, and machine stitched each photo mat for added detail.

Here are a few more photos of some close ups of different parts of the layouts.
(please forgive the photos)

I now have this layout listed on eBay, which you can find HERE if you're interested. : )

I was just so excited about this layout that I HAD to share with all of you. I hope you all have enjoyed my layout and I have inspired you in some way. Thank you so much for taking a peek!

My Dad's the Greatest Blog Hop

Welcome to My Dad's the Greatest Blog Hop. Today we are honoring are Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, Brothers, Husbands, or any special male father figure in your life. Do you remember your father being so big in your eyes that he could protect you from anything? He was the one who would BBQ or mow the grass, or do all the handy fixings around the house (that's my Daddy!). He was the one that would go off to work every day and come home tired and still had time to laugh and play. He was the one didn't mind if every Father's Day he got a tie or slippers - it was all about the love. Our Father's, our protectors. Today is their day to be honored with this fabulous blog hop.

Today we have a handful of super talented women who would like to show that their Dad is the GREATEST! So, sit back, relax, grab your coffee and enjoy all the fabulous projects and stories.

There is this fabulous stamp set up for grabs too. All you have to do is be sure to comment on each blog in the hop to be eligible for the blog candy.

If you've come from Miriam's blog, you're on the right track. If you've just come by for a quick visit and would like to start at the beginning of the hop, be sure to head to Pamela's blog and hop from the beginning.

In case you get lost along the way, here is the complete line up.

Before I get to the photo I would like to share a little something with you about my Daddy. From the time I was a little girl, my Daddy was the handyman. He fixed everything, built everything, etc. I LOVED the TV show McGuyver when I was young, and my Dad and I would watch it together all the time. I always told him that he was McGuyver because he could fix anything and make nothing into something! He, my Daddy, is my everything. Everything I know today, I learned from him! I'm thankful and grateful to have him in my life still, and for him to be in my boys' life too. I love him with all my heart and I will always be his "pumpkin". *tear*
Now, on to my card for today. It didn't turn out exactly as I had envisioned it, but I still love it! The blog was a bit bigger then I expected it to be, and I thought it was going to fit on the tape measure perfectly but... it was slightly bigger than I anticipated. Ahh well... I still love it all the same!

Ok.. Ok... here's my card now.

I used plain Recollections Kraft cardstock for the card base, and I used Coredinations cardstock for the SVG tape measure, which you can find at Scraptastical Kreations. I wrote the "You measure up" sentiment.

Now it's time for you to head on over to Nancy's blog and see what fab project she has to share with all of you.

Thank you for hopping along with us all today, and we all hope you enjoy all the projects and are inspired in some way today.

Now, let's get to my project for today.

I was playing around with this one. I was Pinteresting and got some amazing and wonderful ideas, so I decided to try some white on white with a pop of color. I have to say I wasn't too fond of this when I first create it, but I really, really like it now that I look at it again a few days later. For this card I used plain white cardstock, some plain red cardstock that I cut the heart SVG's from, which I also embossed, and the {ippity} stamp set - IPK - 110  Where You Should Be. I love this set! It's SO versatile and can be used in SO many ways!

ME4Y Monday!!

Hello and happy Monday!

It's officially summer here, as my boys finished their last day of school this last Wednesday. That means a lot more crafting time for me. YAY!

Anywho - as you know, Monday brings the Made Especially For You challenge. This week's challenge is to create a Father's Day card using chipboard! Be sure to enter this challenge and you could win digital images from Priscilla Styles. Be sure to link up your cards at Made Especially For You to be entered!

Now on to my card for this week's challenge

For this card I used the DCWV "The Guy Stack" - I took the one sheet that had the strip of ties at the bottom and cut that off. I used the top half for the background and the bottom portion, which was the strip of ties for the middle. I then to the other half of the strip of ties and fussy fut the matching ties out and pop dotted them over the coordinating tie. I did not add the definition to the ties where the chipboard was placed.

Card Recipe:
DCWV Patterned Paper - "The Guy Stack"
