Fan'tashe'tic Day!!

Howdy!! Today I am sharing a card with all of you that I made for a challenge. I have started creating some "Keep it Simple Sets" that are intended for just that - keeping it simple! This mustache is in the newest KISS set, which you can find here. I LOVE this set - it's so versatile and useful in many ways! It's cute but not so beary cutesy. : )

So, The Sampler had a challenge to "think mustache" on your card. Well, I took that and ran with it. Although, when I sat down to do the card a couple nights ago, I was lost and didn't know what direction to go. But, last night when I sat down, late of course, something came to me! Just because I didn't have any 'stache paper, that shouldn't stop me! I made my OWN 'stache paper! I cut out a bunch of the mustaches real small, they're only about a half inch long and a quarter in wide. I then set them up on my 4x5 piece of cardstock - then I glued them all down after I got the pattern the way I wanted it. I really LOVE how that part came out. I then used the bigger mustache, which I had started with the other day, and I made it 3-D using pop dots! I guess that's enough babbling on how I created my card, huh?? I'm sure you all want to see it!
Here it is!!

So Peachy Keen!!!

Good Morning -  I am SO super excited to share my first card using some Peachy Keen stamps! OMG! I am SO in love, SO hooked, and gonna be SO broke now, lol. I had the so much fun playing over the weekend!!  Sheesh... I sit and ask myself WHY it took me SO long to swoop up some of these cute little faces! I'm glad I have some now, but I have to say... they're going to be so hard to put down!

So, enough babbling and on to the card.

Seriously... I LOVE this stinkin' Egg!! This was my first try with stamping on ribbon. I wish I would have stamped it before I cut and tied it - but it was an afterthought. : )

You Make My Heart Sing

When I get in my scrappy mood I love to check out challenges that various blogs and/or companies have, and that is just what I did yesterday! I LOVE the Design Team Calls website, which you can find by clicking HERE. They not only share all the DT calls from all over, but they also share tons of challenges as well. I was browsing through their challenges yesterday and came across this fun one by Quick Quotes. I was super excited to find it! I love working with sketches, but all the other challenges were layout sketches. I just wasn't in a layout mood yesterday. I was in more of a card mood, and the Quick Quotes challenge allowed me to use the sketch with a card too!

So now I'll share my card with you. I am NOT happy with my handwriting, lol. But, I guess that's what makes each and every card I create using my own handwriting unique.

Follow Your Rainbow

Howdy All  -- I just wanted to share a quick card with you that I made. This card is super simple and to the point. I wanted the rainbow and the sentiment to be the focal point of the card, so I kept it simple! I was SO super excited when I sat down to create this card because I was FINALLY able to grab me some PBD (Pink by Design) stamps and play with them!! They are SO fun and SO easy to use! I cannot wait to play some more with them! I need LOTS of stamping practice, lol. I've never been much of a card maker,  but in the last year I've grown to love them, and I was NEVER a stamper so I need some work. lol. : )

I think I will be sending this card to Emily in a couple of weeks as well. If you haven't read Emily's story yet, be sure to read her story HERE and send her a card!

Here it is...

This is a two day hop and some participants will have a second project on day two, so be sure to stop back by and check that out!

Complete Line Up

Now on to my card...
I made this Valentine's Day card but I'm not sure who it's going to yet! Tough decision!

Sophisticated Scallops set
Bo Bunny and Teresa Collins patterned paper
hemp twine
white gel pen
Studio G stamps

Now on to my recipe....

Strawberry Whoopie Pies

Cookies
1 cup stemmed & halved strawberries
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups brown sugar
2/3 cup canola oil
1/2 cup plain yogurt
2 large eggs

Filling
1 cup stemmed & halved strawberries
5 egg whites
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 sticks butter (room temp) cut into cubes
Red no taste food coloring gel

Cookie Directions

Put strawberries in food processor and pulse in short bursts until they are chopped into small pieces, and set aside. Do not puree them! Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl, and set aside.

Put brown sugar and oil in a large bowl and mix well. Be sure to break up and lumps in the sugar. Whisk in chopped strawberries and yogurt until combined. Then whisk in the eggs one at a time, just until combined. Fold in flour mixture in two parts, being careful not to over work the batter. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat over to 350 - Using a measuring spoon, drop a heaping tablespoon of batter onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper - space each dropping about 2 inches apart. Working in batches, bake until cookies are set and a toothpick test comes out clean. Bake 10-12 minutes. Let cool completely.

Filling Directions
Puree strawberries in food processor until smooth - set aside
Whisk egg white and granulated sugar together in the top of a double boiler until sugar is dissolved and mixture is milky white - about 2 minutes.
Transfer egg white mixture to the bowl - use mixer and whisk attachment on high speed until soft peaks form and mixture is glossy - about 2 minutes
Remove whisk attachment and replace with paddle - add butter and beat until smooth and fluffy - about 5 minutes. Add reserved strawberry puree and about 3-5 drops red food coloring and beat again until combined. - about 1 minute

Assembly directions

Frost the flat sides of the half of the cookies, then top each with an unfrosted cookie to form sandwiches. Then serve and enjoy!

These are pretty simple to make and tasty as well! Be sure to share how yours turn out if you make them.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today, and I hope the card inspired you and the yummy dessert made your mouth water. If you happen to try out my dessert, I would love to know how it turned out. Please hop on over to Zenita's blog and see what she has to share with all of you!

Good Morning Friends! I have a card to share with all of you today, as well as a winner from the Princess' Wedding Blog Hop!

I have had a lot of fun playing with paper this past weekend! It's been quite some time since I've managed to get some extra time away from creating paper piecing patterns to get scrappy with it! It felt awesome!! There is no better therapy then scrap therapy!! I certainly wish I could get some more time to do this more often. I think I just might have make time!

    Here is my card

    Supplies Used:
Heidi Swapp Fun Love Paper Pack
    Pagemaps card sketch
    Studio G Stamp
    Hobby Lobby cardstock
    Misc Ribbon and Bling
    White gel pen

I am really loving these colors together right now. They're perfect for the Valentine's day theme cards and/or layouts. I'm going to be so sad when this paper pack is gone. I've been used it so much this last weekend, that I might have to hoard the rest, lol.

Now... on to our winner of the Princess' Wedding Blog hop.
The winner is.... Doris P - She said " Love your LO - the glasses with the info is perfect. So love the color scheme she picked."

Congrats, Doris! Please email me at scraptasticalkreations@gmail.com to claim your prize!
