12 Days of {handmade} Christmas Day 5

Howdy All!! Thank you for stopping by to take a peek at my day 5 project. I know it's a bit late!! I was under the weather the other day with a horrible toothache/headache. Bleck!! I'm getting it up now though, at least!! So, today I'm sharing with all of you a 2 page 12x12 layout.

For the layout I used
Paper: Coredinations and Paper Studio
SVG - Scraptastical Kreations
White gel pen

Although I've had this layout down for quite some time now, it's been so nice to get some lots of Christmas photos knocked out! Now, if I could do this once a week, I'd be good to go on reducing the amount of photos that are in those photos boxes!!

I'll have day 6 & 7 up for you all tomorrow!

Thanks for taking a peek at my day behind project! : )

12 Days of {handmade} Christmas Day 4

Welcome to day 4 of my 12 Days of {handmade} Christmas!! Today I am sharing with all of you my ribbon tree! I loved this when I seen in on Pinterest, and I couldn't wait to make my own!! It was SO easy and SO cheap to make too!!!

For this tree I purchased all of my supplies at Michael's on the Thanksgiving Day sale. Yes, my mom and I went crafty shopping that night! LOVE our time like that together! So, I bought 4 rolls of ribbon, which were $1.99 each with 60% off, so that made them .79 cents a roll. Then I purchased the styrofoam cone for $4.99, and on my total purchase I used the 30% off entire order. So, I ended up paying around $7 for the entire project. Yes, I LOVE cheap and easy Christmas decor.

So, what I did for this was cut all of my ribbon into 2 inch strips. I then hot glued the ends together, and then I hot glued each ribbon onto the cone. You will want to stagger the rows. If you look closely (yes, I'm giving away my mistakes so that yours turns out better!) you can tell I didn't stagger mine until I reached the top portion of the tree. I should have started that at the bottom and it would have laid much nicer from the top to the bottom. However, I still LOVE it and I have plans to make another one!

Thanks again, for taking a peek at my project today. As always, I hope I've sent some Christmas spirit your way to create some holiday projects this season!

Happy Scrappin'

12 Days of {handmade} Christmas Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of my "12 Days of {handmade} Christmas". Today I am sharing my deco mesh garland. WOW... is that stuff a little difficult to work with. If I would have had a long table to work off of, it would have been much easier; the mesh stuck to the carpet the whole time! Overall, though, I am pleased with the way that it came out for it being my very first one, and the very first time I ever worked with this stuff. I'm all about decorating my home with handmade Christmas items this year. I didn't have very many decor items, so now I'll have lots to years for many years to come. And, to top it off this only costed me around $10.00.

Here is what you'll need

Here is my version of the garland.

It was really hard to get a good photo with the ceiling fan right there.

Here are the details

I purchased the deco mesh from Michael's on the Black Friday weekend for $5.19. It was 60% off (originally $12.99 - great deal!), and I also purchased the pipe cleaners there as well for .99 cents. I then went to the Dollar Tree and purchased 3 tubes of ornaments, so that came to $3, and my mom had the gold wire in her stash. I even have some of the deco mesh left to make something else too!

If you would like to try your own, the tutorial I followed is on Miss Kopy Kat's blog HERE

Thank you so much for taking a peek at my {handmade} Christmas project today! As always, I hope I have inspired you to make some {handmade} Christmas decor this year.

Happy Scrappin'
